Music Video Monday: Holiday Edition

In the spirit of Christmas here is a song from my favorite holiday movie. White Christmas is a tradition in my house and if you haven't seen it, well you are missing out. It is a classic!

And who doesn't love Bing?!?! :)

4 days til Christmas!

Holiday Update!

I am sad to say that blogging is at the bottom of my list of things to do when I get home. After staring at my work computer I can hardly stand opening my personal computer. I feel like I only open it to do a little Christmas shopping (or browsing) and you all know how I feel about that. UGH!

So here is a quick update for the month of December!

We started the month by celebrating my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary with a big surprise party at the lake. Mimi and Buppa thought they were on their way to dinner when all 4 (local) grandchildren wondered in as the first surprise. Then, not 30 minutes later here came our lake family and friends. Needless to say they were shocked! Here are a few photos from the night.
Cheers to 60 years!

Of course someone broke out in song!

Sisters with our boys. :)

Christmas card!

Last week Cincinnati has two snow falls. It was the RAV's first time in snow and it didn't do too bad. I somewhat regret not getting 4-wheel drive, but oh well. We won't be in Cincinnati forever. Walter is also loving the snow. He has this pine cone that he loves to carry around when we go outside. He's probably had it for at least 3 months. Unfortunately, it is covered in snow and he doesn't quite understand it. He picks it up then rolls it in the snow, I think in hopes that all the cold stuff will fall off and he can carry it back to our door. It is pretty cute to watch, but a little annoying when you are freezing!

Here are a few photos of Walt. (All 80-some lbs. of him.)
His standard look.

Walter and Tucker getting along for the moment. This didn't last long.

He's a silly guy.

Only 3 more days before my Christmas break begins! After a couple of relaxing days at home everyone is heading to the lake for our first Christmas in the new house. I cannot wait to wake up Christmas morning with my family at this place.
I will miss waking up at my house and sitting around our great big tree, but this is definitely the second best place to be on Christmas morning. :) My goal is to have lots of great pics to share the following week.

To finish off this LONG, picture filled post here is my new favorite Christmas song this year. Problem is I can't find a place to download it.

Who agrees that this dude needs a new haircut?!?!?!

Merry Christmas!

XOXO,
Tracey

Christmas Wishlist

This worked pretty well last year, so here you go family!

This cute little top is from the Gap. Totally me.
Chain Tank

I have two great make-up brushes, but I would love a whole set with a case. I found this set on Sephora's website.

I've been looking for a great rain/snow boot. I've looked at Duck Boots, but I don't think they would be great for the winter weather. These boots look warm and stylist! Here they are at Nordstrom. :)
Gap's Always Skinny Black Jeans

This fragrance was in the Macy's catalog and I liked it, so here ya go!
Gucci Guilty Perfume at Macy's

I am in desperate need of some new black pumps. Nothing too high!
Nine West Symsone Pumps

And last, but not least...

David Yurman Crossover X Ring

Good luck folks!

XOXO,
T

The Impractical, Practical Boot

This is what I wanted last year when I bought my first pair of Ugg boots. They are so tempting! It took me a long time to finally buy my first Classic Tall boots. Dylan thinks they are the most impractical boot ever, but they are definitely the warmest shoe I've ever worn. I don't know how I got through so many winters without them. :)

Will this be the first item on my Christmas wish list?!?!?!

T

Halloween Weekend

We had a fun-filled Halloween weekend here in Cinci. We stayed home Friday night to clean Walter's living quarters (ie. our house) to prepare for Dylan's parent's visit on Saturday. This was their first trip to Cincinnati, so we started the day with a walk through Sawyer Point. After that we went to Terry's Turf Club for one of the best burgers in the city.
We ended the day at Party Source. This place is awesome! We probably spent a good hour roaming through all the aisles of beer, wine, liquor and party supplies. As the website says, they have "everything, but the guests." We love going there, but know we are going to spend a lot when we do. :)

Unfortunately, we did not go to any Halloween parties this year. Even my parents had a party to go to! ha After a full day we decided to make dinner and check out a not-so-scary movie on Netflix.

Sunday was another full day. We went to our first Bengals game at Paul Brown Stadium. Don't worry Indiana family, we are not turning on our team. NOTHING compares to a Colts game at Lucas Oil. It was our first time at an outdoor stadium, but it was pretty disappointing. Thank you again, Cincinnati Financial.
After the game we headed over to our friends house in Norwood for trick-or-treating. Halloween is a big deal in their neighborhood so we had to be there. Even with 7 bags of candy we ran out before 8:00 pm. Seeing as it was Walter's first Halloween I decided to get him a costume.

I promise this face is normal. haha

Jessica and Kai
Kai was suppose to be Elvis, but his costume had a little to many distractions to chew on.

My little bumble bee.

Hope you had a fun and safe Halloween!!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Last week we celebrated Juliette Gordon Low's 150th birthday at the Girl Scout office. Her birthday is on October 31 so we always have a costume party, chili cook-off and bake-off. This year I decided to participate in the chili cook-off. No, I did not make my mom's chili or my dad's white chili. I made my own chili. It's really nothing special, but we sure do like it. Plus I get to use the crock pot which I love.

I'm not putting the recipe up because it's really not that special. The whole reason for this post is actually to tell you about the new cookie recipe that I got from the bake-off!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
These little guys are my new favorite dessert! I'm not a big pumpkin fan, so it was one of the 3 items I actually tried that day. I think I had 5. (Good thing they are small!) I don't know if it is the pumpkin but they are so moist. One recipe makes a little over 3 dozen because they are small. I have a feeling I will be making these all year long. :)

1/2 c. margarine
1 c. pumpkin (I used a little more to build up the pumpkin taste.)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. unbleached flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1-2 c. milk chocolate chips (Just use the whole bag people!)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Place margarine in a glass dish. Cover and microwave for 30 seconds.
In a large bowl, mix pumpkin, sugar, melted butter, egg, milk and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Add to large bowl.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop from a teaspoon into lightly greased sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Enjoy!

Walter Update

Well we don't know where he is putting it, but Walter is now over 60 lbs. He received his final shot on Friday, so we celebrated with a trip to the Mt. Airy Dog Park on Saturday afternoon. Dog parks are great, but boy are they expensive! Thankfully Cincinnati has a newly renovated FREE dog park just 15 minutes from our place. I was a little skeptical about a free dog park, assuming it was filthy. Thankfully it was pretty nice. We heard that they recently put up new fencing and water stations for the dogs. Unfortunately, Cincinnati hasn't had any significant rain, so it was VERY dusty. That didn't stop the pups from playing.

As I mentioned before, Walt is now over 60 lbs. I always had a hard time believing it until I saw another 4 month old lab mix puppy at the park. My mouth dropped when the owner said she was 4 months. Now I see why all of you think he is so big. ha

Here are some pics from Walter's adventures at the dog park.

Another reason we love the dog park... see picture above. After an hour and half at the dog park he came home and slept the rest of the day and night. Love it! :)
