Future DIY??

I love a good DIY idea! Problem is I'm not very quick to get started on the project. We now have two pieces of furniture that need to be sanded and refinished (Dylan's idea...) and we are nowhere near starting on them.

I recently came across this DIY project for a mini office storage space! We are in desperate need of a filing cabinet. Shoe boxes just aren't cutting it these days and the chest idea is perfect! Now if I can just find an awesome chest and the space at the end of my bed. :)

Time to start searching Craigslist!

Walter Update

As I mentioned before, Walter is taking a liking to our new place. He loves the backyard, but I think his favorite spot is propped up on the couch looking out the front window.
I think he fell asleep in this position today. It can't be that comfortable, right? Gotta love him!

Sunday Funday!

We had a very successful weekend here in Cincinnati! My last for the the next month. Friday night we joined our Sand Volleyball team at O'Bryon's Irish Pub for a Cincinnati Sports League Happy Hour. You can't pass up $1 Bud Lights! Unfortunately, the thunderstorm that rolled through prevented us from enjoying the patio. We had a great time anyway.

Saturday we took Walter on a morning walk through Oakley. The rest of the day was filled with cleaning and prepping the turkey for the fry on Sunday! About 11 friends showed up to enjoy the first deep fried turkey. I need to send out a special thanks to our great friends, Colin and Jessica! These two know how to throw a party. They brought over their fryer (used for the first time about 3 weeks ago) and took care of the marinade and seasoning!

We started with a favorite from the Grey House, Nancy's Fried Zucchini! It was a huge hit with the group, but who wouldn't love it? After that we did a few chicken tenders, then tossed in the turkey.
It was delicious and we were all stuffed!! It was a great way to end the weekend. Everyone left by about 6, so we had plenty of time to relax and recover. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend at the lake or wherever you were.

XOXO,
T

Our New Home

Welcome to our home! I forced Dylan to help me get the last few boxes and framed photos off the floor today, so I could finally take pictures. It's a little house, but everything fits and that's fine with me. Walter is loving the new yard and cool wood floors. :)
Walter's playground.
Dylan set up his new Weber grill yesterday, but it's still in the garage. Along with the table and chairs that my mom gave us for the deck. Thanks, Mom!
The mirror over our bed use to be over the couch in our old place. Looks better here now.I love the tile in this bathroom.Smaller kitchen, but I like it so far.
Notice one picture in there twice? Look closely...
Tired boy cooling off after a morning at Wags Park.
The door in the hallway leads to a side door and the basement.

So that's it! We do have a basement with, I guess 2 and half rooms. Walter's crate is down there, plus the washer and dryer. There is a guest room and partial bathroom, but it's an old basement so we aren't begging for guests quite yet.

Memorial Day Weekend

Grandview Lake was like a doggy pet resort over Memorial Day weekend. Friday night we headed to the lake with Walter in the back. After only one week in our new house I think he was a little thrown off when we packed up the car and drove for two hours. I hope by the end of the summer Walter will show excitement when I say "Want to go to the lake?" ha

We spent Saturday and Sunday spending time with family, friends and 10 dogs! Most of these pictures are on the newest round of pups in the cove.
Mac, the ladies man. (Boxer/Mastiff mix puppy)

Zoey (Mac's sister)

Walter and Rudy (Boxer puppy)
And then of course, we had swim lessons!
This was not Walter's first time swimming at the lake, but he's always a little hesitant at first. He's a big fan of a wade-in beach....

All and all it was a great weekend. We even made it back to Franklin to have a late lunch with Dylan's parents on Monday.

We've got two weeks until we spend four weekends in a row in Indiana, so I hope to get a few things accomplished!
1. Find a place in the house for all the odds and ins that are still in boxes.
2. Take pictures of the house and share them with you.
3. Try a couple new restaurants in the area. Especially this bar, Dutchs. I think Dylan will love it.
4. Get Dylan's new Weber Grill up and running!
5. Make some delicious meals to enjoy on our deck with friends!
6. Invest in an herb/vegetable garden! I really want to get some basil, cilantro, tomatoes, and whatever else sounds good. Nothing big for now, just experimenting.
7. Go to a Reds game.
8. Take Walter to Wags Dog Park for one of their happy hours.
9. RELAX! It's summer right?!?!?
