A "Pin-Up" Weekend

Last weekend I went to Kankakee, IL for my best friend's bridal shower and bachelorette weekend. As most of you know, you always have a good time with Jenna. This weekend was no different! Here are some photos I took along the way.

With the beautiful bride-to-be
Yes, Jenna registered for a cat shaped toilet brush holder!

After a lovely shower at The Country Mansion (reception site too) we tried to relax before the pin-up themed bachelorette party! Jenna's sisters put together an amazing night of fun. We all had our hair and make-up done before taking individual photos. Once everyone had their turn we hopped on a party bus to hit the town! We got a lot of looks (Kankakee is pretty country), but I think most everyone thought it was a pretty cool idea!

Preview shots of all the ladies!
Hair by Anna (Jenna's sister), make-up by Maggie (Jenna's cousin) and photos by Katie (Jenna's Sister)
Here are some more shots from the night...

I can't wait to make the long drive north again over Labor Day to see this lovely lady tie the knot!!! This time I won't be alone though, thank god! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

XOXO,
T

Pizza Night!

There's a new favorite in our house tonight! I've always loved Tomato Basil Pizza, but this is the first time I've made it myself. We have a basil plant out back that is growing like crazy, so it only makes sense!! This pizza was delicious!! VERY easy too.

Tomato Basil Pizza

Ingredient are self explanatory!

Now another dress up session with the pup. And I must add, this is not my doing!

Such a good stud!! Happy Hump Day!

Weekend/Walter Update!

I'm on a roll with these blog updates! This weekend we got to stay in Cincinnati. YAY! Friday night we hit up a new Mexican restaurant, El Jinete. Our first meal at this place was so-so. We thought we would give it another shot and it is now a favorite! The food was standard and didn't disappoint, but it was the drinks special that got us!
32 oz. Goose Island Summer Ale for $3! All day, every day.

After finishing off 3 of these (1 for me, 2 for Dylan) we met up with some friends at Habits Cafe to enjoy the full moon! It was a perfect little Friday night.

The rest of the weekend was pretty boring. We made great use of our grill though. Steaks on Saturday and kabobs on Sunday! Walter is getting use to being out in the yard by himself, but he loves it when we spend time out there too. Here are some picture around the yard on Sunday!

Bought this tomato plant at Findlay Market about 2 months ago.
Tomatoes are on the way!

He really is the cutest!
Our dinner on Sunday. LOVE corn on the grill! I don't know why my family never did that.

I'm looking forward to more weekends like this in August because we have NO plans! NONE! It's somewhat amazing.

T

Need A Laugh?

Maybe I watch too much TV, but I can't help but giggle when these commercials come on the screen!

As I prepare to buy my first Iphone and Ipad (fingers crossed) this fall, I can't help but think of this commercial. "You got the wrong tv, silly head!"

And this is just funny! Good job Toyota.

And to finish off the blog, who's excited for Up All Night this fall???

I worry that will be me and Dylan one day....ha

Best Friend Reunion (and Wedding)

Last weekend was full of wedding fun. On Saturday almost all of my college girlfriends gathered for Jenna's bridal shower. Here is a photo of all the ladies that could make it to the shower. Next weekend I head North to Kankakee for her bachorette party! It is sure to be a good time.
Peyton, Jenna, Katie, Randi and me

After the shower we headed back to Indy for another Kappa wedding! It was a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. I've never seen so many beautiful flowers! As always it was a perfect wedding with all of my closest friends! Well, almost... we missed this chic and her new little man.
I can't wait to meet little William Oliver Weller!!

Back to the wedding! Purdue Pete made a special appearance and we made sure to get plenty of pics with him. Enjoy!

Amanda's looked BEAUTIFUL and check out those flower! WOW!
The men with Purdue Pete.
I love these girls!
Peyton and Nick came all the way from SoCal! No idea when I will get to see them next. :(

I got to spend almost 2 whole days with this lady! Miss you so much!

Another fantastic weekend with fantastic friends! If only it could happen more than a couple times a year. Miss you all!!

XOXO,
T

Overdue July 4th Weekend

4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! Definitely my favorite weekends in the summer. As always everyone heads to the lake for a nice little weekend on the water. This year was no different. It was a full house with all of the granddaughters home! That alone is an event in itself! We also had another engagement to celebrate. My cousin got engaged the weekend before in complete surprise. We couldn't be more excited to have another family wedding!

My photography skills have been seriously lacking recently. I hardly took any photos over the weekend, which is not like me. I think I just spent too much time in the water. :)

We toasted to these two!
Buppa presented Matt with the paddle he never received in college to
add to our wall at the lake.

My red, white and blue cupcakes with homemade icing were delicious!

Walter found a new favorite sunning spot on the pontoon.
And I unexpectedly learned how to use the paddle board with Walter. He jumped on
as I was leaving. We didn't get far, but I think he enjoyed it. I did eventually stand up and we didn't fall!

Unfortunately, the night of the fireworks a huge thunderstorm rolled in right as we were loading up the boats. (Each year Grandview sets off fireworks on the dam and everyone drives their boats to the middle of the lake to watch.)It didn't look good on the radar, so we stayed on land. They started early and fast. We could see most of them over the trees, but it just wasn't the same. The worst of the storm missed us too.

Oh well, until next year!
XOXO,
T
